Olga L. Sarmiento

Olga L. Sarmiento is a professor at the School of Medicine at Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia). Her transdisciplinary research examines the relationship between the built environment, policy, and health, with a particular focus on inclusive and sustainable community programs in Latin America. She has led health evaluations of policies in Bogotá, including bikeways, Ciclovías, the Recreovia among women,  the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, and the cable car. Currently, Dr. Sarmiento serves as the co-principal investigator of the SALURBAL-Climate project (Urban Health in Latin America),  the ESCALA project (Study of Climate Change in Informal Settlements) and CIVICA (Ciudad Viva Inteligente y Conectada).
