Manuel Montero Rey

Manuel Montero Rey (Madrid, 1964) has a Master in Law from Complutense University of Madrid (1987) and post gradutate Masters on European Union (Diplomatic School - Ministry of Foreing Affairs, 1996) and on European Labour Relations and Social Dialogue (Complutense Institute for International Studies, 2009).

In 1990 he began working at National Institute for Employment (Ministry of Labour) as lawyer in the Vocational Training Department, being representative of Spain in the European project EUROQUALIFICATION as well as in the European Training Foundation (European Union)

From 2007 to 2025 he worked at Imserso (Institute for Older Persons and Social Services- Ministry for Social Rights, Consumers and 2030 Agenda) in the International Relations Unit acting as National Focal Point in the UNECE Standing Working Group on Ageing, in the Commission for Social Development and in the Open-ended Working Group on Ageing of United Nations.

Representative of Spain in: European Centre for Social Welfare and Research, affiliate to United Nations-Vienna; Working Group on Long-Term Care of the Social Protection Committee (EU) and Working Group on Incapable Adults within the Experts Committee on Family Law (Council of Europe)

From may 2025 is Head of Training and Communication Unit in IMSERSO.
