Ina Voelcker

Ina Voelcker is the Head of the Secretariat for International Policy on Ageing at BAGSO, the German National Association of Senior Citizens’ Organisations. She coordinates BAGSO’s international work which involves representing older persons’ interests in international policy debates and fostering the exchange of senior citizens’ organisations from various countries.

Ina first worked on age-friendly cities in 2007, during an internship with the World Health Organisation. From 2013 to 2019, she coordinated the implementation of age-friendly cities in Brazilian municipalities, while working with the International Longevity Centre Brazil. In her role with BAGSO, she promotes the concept of age-friendly cities within Germany.

Ina Voelcker is immediate past co-chair of the Global Alliance for the Rights of Older People (GAROP) and member-at-large of the NGO Committee on Ageing Geneva.

She holds academic degrees in Gerontology (BA) from the University of Vechta, Germany and Public Policy and Ageing (MA) from the University of London, UK.
