Agustín Martínez Molina
Agustín Martínez Molina is a tenured Associate Professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). Since November 2024, he has served as Head of Research and Technical Support at IMSERSO (Spain’s National Institute for Older Persons and Social Services). In this capacity, he promotes evidence-informed public policy on ageing and social wellbeing and coordinates IMSERSO’s international technical cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the UN European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research.
He is the Vice-President of the 3rd World Congress of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities (IMSERSO–WHO, 2025–2026).
He holds a PhD in Behavioral Science from UAM (2011) and possesses over 15 years of academic experience in psychology and behavioral methodology across four universities. His scientific output includes over 60 indexed publications, with a significant presence in top-quartile (Q1) journals. He has led five competitive research projects, including SELA (Systematic Evaluation of Local Age-friendliness), a framework for monitoring age-friendly environments.
His recent work incorporates neuroscience, collaborating with the NNF group at Universitat Jaume I to study brain organization through structural and functional neuroimaging. Previously, he served as President of the Chilean Association of Methodology, Measurement, and Evaluation (ACMME) and has been awarded two six-year research performance units (sexenios) by Spain’s national accreditation agency (ANECA).
